If you have ever come along on one of our family friendly “Wading Adventures” and seen the look on a small child’s face upon netting their first seahorse, then you have some idea of what we are all about.

The Wading Adventure is just one of many educational programs provided by BIPS. We offer docent led tours of historic Port Boca Grande Lighthouse & Museum and love nothing better than educating our visitors about what life was like in this part of the world thousands of years ago. We are acutely aware of the environment and like to think that we especially do our part in giving back. BIPS is proud to be a big part of the local community and the local community is an even bigger part of who we are.

Did you know that Barrier Island Parks Society receives NO state or federal funding of any kind?

It is contributions from people like you that allow BIPS to provide consistent, ongoing support to the Lighthouse, the Museum, and our four state parks. It is only through your generosity that we are able to sponsor the wide variety of wonderful educational programs and events throughout the year that we do; all of which benefit the entire community.
