Historic Gasparilla Island Light was originally built in 1888 in Lewes, Delaware and later moved and reconstructed in 1927 on Gasparilla Island. It is one of the few remaining original rear range light structures in the state, and possibly the only one that has resided in two states.
For many years you could only stand by the side of the road or on the beach to view and photograph this historic structure, but you could not climb it. That is until it was restored! Thanks to the support of so many, our shared dream has become a reality and this historic treasure is now open to climb! For details and registration visit our programs and events calendar.
Fundraising is still ongoing but we have come so far with your help!
